Job Description
Stable, well respected Northwest side, Indianapolis manufacturer is seeking a well qualified individuals to assist in production and inventory . This position requires knowledge of inventory and experience in a manufacturing, production environment. The position is Monday-Friday day shift. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inventory
- Manage production inventory.
- Ability to develop and maintain inventory control systems.
- Prepare end-of-month close reports generated from the ERP system.
- Conduct periodic physical cycle counts and update system on hand.
- Communicate with receiving and purchasing on discrepancies.
- Assist receiving for accuracy and location.
Production
- Generate and maintain work orders to meet production requirements.
- Update work orders and coordinate with management on expedites.
- Update purchasing on increased production needs against reorder points/lead times.
- Provide general administrative support to the team as needed.
- Develop a base of product knowledge and Willoughby’s part number matrix to be able to identify parts by visual inspection.
- Understand and assist with Part number creation, Bill of Materials and Routers.
- Assist production manager and sales team with project resource materials planning.
- Assist with shipping/outbound orders.
Purchasing
- Coordinate with warehouse and accounting teams to verify receipt of purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory levels to potential shortages or overstock situations.
- Assist in preparing reports related to purchasing activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- ERP/MRP experience.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Multi-tasking with ease in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, self-Motivated and ability to prioritize tasks and projects with limited direction and time constraints.
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise.
- Innovative problem solving.
- Must be a good culture fit: Professional presence, open-minded, positive attitude and team player.
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- 2+ years’ experience working within a supply chain role.
- Previous work experience in steel manufacturing/sourcing preferred.
- Demonstrated ability for independent thinking. Proven ability to plan pro- actively, anticipate issues and have excellent problem resolution with little or no input or assistance.
- Excellent follow-through. Proven ability to work in a deadline-intensive environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Office/Manufacturing Environment
- Constant sitting
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Will be asked to spend time in the manufacturing plant
- Manufacturing plant has high level of noise
- Must submit to pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
