Job Description

SHADOW LION

Role: Senior Account Director / Group Account Director

Overview:

The Group Account Director is a senior client leader who helps drive the success of brand campaigns, branded content and original campaign work at Shadow Lion. Reporting to the Head of Client Services, this role manages key client relationships, oversees execution across multiple accounts, and supports growth opportunities. Equal parts strategic partner and hands-on manager, the Group Account Director balances big-picture thinking with day-to-day delivery. They champion great creative work, keep teams energized, and foster collaboration across functions — all while strengthening long-term client partnerships and promoting Shadow Lion’s culture of creativity, innovation, and respect.

About Us:

Shadow Lion was founded in 2017 to support Tom Brady’s off-field media efforts. From those roots, we quickly expanded to provide creative services to athletes, influencers, and brands across industries. Today, we’re a creative agency driven by sharp ideas, bold storytelling, and seamless execution.

Our creative philosophy is simple: move people. Creativity is at the heart of everything we do—but just as important is the culture we build together. We’re committed to fostering an environment that’s respectful, inclusive, and grounded in trust. We believe great work happens when people feel supported, empowered, and united by a shared purpose—and that’s the standard we strive for every day.

With a growing roster of clients and an expanding team, our Account group is looking for a Senior Account or Group Account Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees client onboarding, brief intake, and day-to-day communication with clarity and consistency.
  • Leads business reviews, campaign wrap-ups, and renewal conversations with insight and confidence.
  • Monitors campaign performance, distilling results into actionable insights at key milestones.
  • Plays an active, senior role in client presentations, offering strategic guidance from kickoff through completion.
  • Owns the financial health of assigned client businesses—including budgets, staffing plans, reconciliation, margins, and invoicing.
  • Brings an entrepreneurial lens, spotting opportunities in client needs and transforming them into bold, creative solutions that drive growth.

Project & Delivery Oversight

  • Oversees project timelines, internal resourcing, and production hand-offs to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Translates campaign scopes into actionable deliverables, timelines, and KPIs with internal teams.
  • Helps ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with creative excellence.
  • Provide leadership and problem-solving support across content development and creative production, serving as a trusted partner to navigate bottlenecks, streamline processes, and maintain the rhythm of the business.

Strategic Business Development

  • Partner with senior leadership to expand accounts, uncovering opportunities to upsell, cross-sell, and deepen client impact.
  • Lead new business pitches, RFPs, and partnership conversations—bringing sharp insights and bold storytelling from past successes.
  • Create and refine tools—decks, case studies, workflows—that elevate our client experience and showcase Shadow Lion at its best.

Campaign Oversight

  • Guides key milestones and deliverables across branded campaigns.
  • Leads with agility and confidence—moving fast, guiding the team through shifting needs, and making decisive calls. Just as important, you know when to pause, step back, and chart the smartest path forward.
  • Anticipates and resolves roadblocks, escalating when necessary.
  • Supports internal teams with scoping, planning, and execution to keep projects on track.

Team & Culture

  • Promotes Shadow Lion’s culture of creativity, innovation, collaboration, respect, agility and timeliness.
  • Leads with vision and by example, guiding and inspiring the team to push past expectations and deliver their best work every day.
  • Provides day-to-day guidance and informal feedback to account team members.
  • Supports performance review processes and onboarding of new hires.
  • Encourages collaboration across account, creative, production, operations, and business teams.
  • Balances quality delivery with budget awareness and client relationship management.

Communication

  • Communicates project updates and information clearly and in a timely manner.
  • Navigate difficult conversations and ambiguity head-on, using transparency, empathy, and sharp thinking to turn challenges into momentum and positive outcomes.
  • Escalates significant issues to senior leadership as appropriate.
  • Recognizes team successes and addresses challenges constructively to support professional growth.
  • Models a strong client-service approach in all interactions.

  • Strong strategic thinker and problem solver, able to assess complex situations and translate insights into innovative solutions.
  • Experienced in scaling account/client service functions in fast-paced, creative organizations.
  • Exceptional relationship-builder and communicator, skilled at inspiring teams and partnering with clients and vendors.
  • Digitally fluent, with deep knowledge of social platforms, KPIs, web analytics, and emerging tools.
  • Passion for storytelling, brand building, and digital culture, with the adaptability to thrive in a fast-moving industry.
