Our client is hiring a Supply Chain Assistant based within commuting distance of Fort Lee, NJ, supporting international and domestic logistics for projects launching across the U.S. In this role, you will partner closely with supply chain, procurement, logistics, and sales teams to build cost models, optimize routes, and prep new programs before they go live - especially those headed to major retailers like Costco.

This is a great fit for someone with logistics or supply chain experience who enjoys solving problems, building structure, and growing within a dynamic organization. The hiring timeline is fast, and there’s opportunity to grow either within supply chain or into other areas of the business.

Must-Have Attributes

  • Strong operational logistics experience , ideally in both domestic and international shipping , with fluency in Incoterms , container flows , and common pain points (demurrage, per diem, carrier delays, etc.).
  • Proven problem-solving and process improvement skills (e.g., SOP development, cost-efficiency initiatives).
  • Candidates who’ve worked in multi-step logistics flows with temperature-controlled or time-sensitive goods (e.g., food, pharmaceuticals, perishables).
  • Experience working in non-standardized logistics environments (e.g., smaller 3PLs, import/export firms, scrappy startup operations - not just large freight forwarders).
  • High energy, curiosity, and a proactive attitude - someone who anticipates issues and communicates clearly and assertively.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills, especially with sales, purchasing, and warehouse teams.

Preferred Backgrounds (nice to have, but not required)

  • Import/export logistics from international trade , 3PLs , freight brokers , customs brokers , port/terminal operators , or CPG supply chain departments .
  • Demonstrated ability to create or refine SOPs , tools, or dashboards to support operations.
  • Hands-on experience with Excel , ERP systems , and tools like monday.com , Power BI .
