Objective

A Test Systems Technician supports construction of various Test Systems and Testing tools necessary to evaluate automotive components to ensure conformance to customer requirements. This position is carried out with thoroughness and competence in order to produce reliable test results and maintain a high standard of quality.

Essential Responsibilities

• Independently build/assemble/wire Tester Cabinets according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronic systems and components.
• Fabricate and modify test system components.
• Build Tester harnesses.
• Verification / Measurement analysis testing using DMMs and Oscilloscopes.
• Maintain test equipment, tools, and systems.
• Support the development of new test system designs.
• Provide support to Test Systems Engineering department on project needs.

Experience: 2+ years

Education: Associate's or 2 Year Degree

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Strong understanding of basic wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of test and measurement equipment (DMM, Power Supply, Oscilloscope).
• May operate bench lathes, drills, or other machine tools to fabricate parts, such as tester fixtures, terminal boards, and chassis.
• Extensive lab/tester equipment knowledge/problem solving and tester troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of ladder logic and PLC equipment.
• Strong soldering skills are required (SMT rework/repair (Intermediate). Basic understanding of PCB fabrication and layout.).
• Intermediate PC skills and experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/Visio.
• Understanding of PCB layout concepts and PCB fabrication methods.
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Strong written and oral communication as well as strong technical communication.
