This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior IT Security Engineer in the United States .

In this role, you will play a critical part in building and operationalizing a robust cybersecurity program for a fast-growing technology environment. You will lead the deployment of core security systems, configure cloud and endpoint security standards, and implement incident response processes. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives on building security infrastructure from the ground up, balancing technical expertise with operational rigor. You will work closely with IT engineering teams to ensure compliance, visibility, and operational excellence across security systems. The position offers the opportunity to influence the security posture at scale while maintaining flexibility in a dynamic, remote-friendly environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the deployment, configuration, and integration of core security systems and processes to enhance organizational security posture.
  • Establish alerting, reporting, and dashboarding capabilities for operational visibility and proactive security monitoring.
  • Own and execute the Security Incident Response Process, performing initial analysis, containment, and log correlation for security alerts.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and system documentation for newly implemented security tools and processes.
  • Harden infrastructure across endpoints (Windows, macOS, Linux) and cloud platforms (GCP and/or Azure), implementing baseline security standards.
  • Provide expert guidance to the IT Engineering team on integrating security controls into network and system architecture.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in IT security engineering or operations, with proven delivery of security improvements.
  • Strong technical expertise with installation, management, and troubleshooting of security tools and applications.
  • Experience supporting security in IT infrastructure, including network security fundamentals and endpoint hardening.
  • Familiarity with cloud security controls in GCP and/or Azure.
  • Operational mindset with the ability to follow detailed implementation plans, execute incident response processes, and create clear documentation.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional IT teams.
  • Bonus points for certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CEH, or OSCP, experience in high-growth tech environments, knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOC 2, GDPR, ISO 27001, HIPAA), and expertise with security analytics tools like Looker, Splunk, or Elastic.
